When customizing the content of an insert, it is good to adhere to the following best practices:
1. Make sure you use colors that match the palette already used within your app. Insert Support (support@insert.io) can help you create your own custom style that includes custom colors, fonts, and images.
2. The images you use in an insert should be as small, in terms of file size, as possible in order to reduce download times. Ensure that you are hosting images on highly available and consistently high performing infrastructure. If an image cannot be downloaded within a specified time period, the insert will not be shown. Images can be centered within an insert or stretched to fit the width of the mobile device.
3. Always test the insert on an actual device to verify the correct display of content and the correct actions occur on a call-to-action click. The web preview may not accurately display all content and there is no way to test call-to-action clicks.
4. Remember that the insert will run on various device types and sizes. It is recommended that you test on a variety of devices when possible. If you are limited in the number of different device types, prioritize testing the insert on devices with the smallest screen width to ensure the insert displays properly.
