Insert uses an advanced algorithm to identify a screen within a mobile app. Since mobile screens are sometimes very similar, it is important to select at least one element that uniquely identifies the screen.
Here are some tips when selecting identifying elements:
- If you want to identify a screen based on content, such as text, make sure you select the specific content and not just the element that contains the content.
- If you want to identify a screen based on a structural pattern (i.e. if you want to identify any product details screen in a retail app), select an element which appears on each screen.
- Do not select elements that appear on screens which you do not want to identify.
- Take different screen sizes into account and make sure you select identifying elements that appear in all dimension variations.
If a Screen View trigger activates an insert on the wrong screen, first check the elements that were selected to identify the screen. If the identifying elements appear to be unique, contact Insert support (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more help.
