For each insert, you can define specific insert goals that you want to track.
Insert goals can be related to user interaction with an insert or user activity in the app after seeing an insert.
Insert goal completion is tracked for each user for the lifetime of an insert. If a user sees a specific insert five times and completes the goal on the fifth view, the goal is considered completed for the user.
Goal types include:
- Insert actions: Goals related to user interaction with an insert (clicking on the call-to-action button or on a banner, playing a video, answering a survey etc). The goal is defined by the action that results from it for example: Submitted, Went to deep link ..., Opened URL https://insert.io. In complex inserts where the same action can be reached from several insert buttons, the goal will sum over all these button clicks.
- Tap on: Goals that allow you to understand the effect of an insert after it has been viewed. For instance, you may want to understand if viewing a specific insert results in more purchases in your app based on the tap of a Purchase button. These goals have an attribution window. The goal will be considered complete only if the user completes the tap on action after seeing the insert within the time specified by the attribution window.
Goals are tracked in an insert's dashboard, which can be reached by clicking on a running insert in the main dashboard view.
If you run an A/B test, you will see for each goal the results of each of your variations. For Tap on goals in the app, you will see a comparison between the variations and the control group you configured - users who were in the segment but did not receive the insert.
